The Frugal Book Promoter

This is a second edition of the book, which was first published in 2004. The fact that the book is published once again with multiple updates already speaks of its success. Within its 400 pages, the author presents a myriad of marketing tips that are both easy on the wallet and do not consume too much time. With internet ruling our lives, book promotion can be easily done with this modern medium of information and communication. It is possible to get your name and your book out there without paying extraordinary fees to publicists. Many useful and critical steps can be taken with little or no cost to the author, only requiring committing one’s own time to the cause.

"The Frugal Book Promoter" is clearly written with easy-to-follow advice, touching on many specific details, like what is the best way to take a photo, which will appear on the book’s back cover, for example. There are many basics that may be overlooked by a new author, and this text is very helpful in covering those. Preparing a media kit, getting reviews in various places – online and in-print, keeping a blog, offering a free glimpse inside your book, are just some of tips offered. One of the more important ones, in my opinion, is offering an electronic version of the book. With many people reading from e-readers, tablets, and computers, it is very advantageous to have an option of purchasing an electronic text. Getting the book is instantaneous and cheaper in most cases. And virtual bookshelves are expending at incredibly fast rate.

Overall, an audience of writers fresh to the business and want-to-be writers would greatly benefit by reading this book. It is full of down-to-earth advice and tips for succeeding in marketing one’s written work. The author is very knowledgeable on the subject and has a great writing style, presenting comprehensive information in succinct and logical way, while paying attention to key details.
